NRG Esports
NRG Esports is an American esports organization based in Los Angeles, California. It has rosters in Apex Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch, Rocket League, Valorant, speedrunning and a number of streamers on the internet platform Twitch.
The goal of the new NRG branding was to bring a more unified look, creating a link between different games - Valorant, Apex Legends and Rocket League, while still having elements that set them apart to be easily recognizable as each game. I focused on a doodle style, using a dominant bold font for the main text, adding smaller, custom drawn elements such as singular letters, items from the game, or stars to bring more attention to the text.

Live Ops Design

VALORANT Assets
Since VALORANT has a lot of Agents with varying abilities, guns and more, I focused on doodles from the game itself - recreating abilities, items and more to add to the graphic. I wanted to keep the colors strict to black and white, unless it was the announcement of a creator, bringing in the VALORANT red to draw attention to the signing.

Apex Assests
With the design for Apex Legends, I added a third color - yellow, and a more grunge style using slight halftones and thicker background elements such as fire and lightning to differentiate it from the rest. I also decided to use silhouettes, that way the focus can be on the players themselves, while adding color that wasn’t too obnoxious to the design.

San Francisco Shock 2022
The San Francisco Shock are an American professional Overwatch esports team based in San Francisco, California - the home of earthquakes, which launched the theming of the brand for the 2022 season of Overwatch League. As lead designer, I created a bold yet readable style that evoked the cracks, quakes and disruption of an earthquake, while maintaining a clean aesthetic.
Inspired by words such as, “Tremor,” “Quake,” “Crack,” and “Disruption” I incorporated classic crack textures and fractured backgrounds, using fissures as cutouts to add depth. The social media graphics for San Francisco Shock's Twitter utilized their signature black, white, and gray with pops of orange—orange was used sparingly to highlight key information. By translating the team's colors into cracked and shattered elements, I made graphics that effectively captured the energy of an earthquake while adhering to the Shock's core visual identity.

Merch Designs
I designed custom jerseys and gaming chairs for both NRG and San Francisco Shock, creating bold, fan-ready designs rooted in each team's identity. For NRG, I developed a sharp, spiky tiger stripe pattern in their signature colors, giving the visuals an aggressive, high-energy feel. For Shock, I created a custom camo pattern by layering angular shapes in orange, black, and gray, designed to feel dynamic and versatile across mediums. This camo became the foundation of their 2023 brand look, applied across jerseys, chairs, digital assets, and more. Both chairs and jerseys were sold as official fan collectibles, blending function with team pride.

3D Assets
I also had the opportunjity to creatd posters using Blender 3D, themed differently for each tournament based on the location of the tournament. These range from the city for Dallas, a beach for Hawaii tournament and an ice hockey rick for Toronto. I wanted each tournament to have a different feel to showcase the differences between the tournaments while still feeling cohesive. My process included reskinning the models for each team, posing models in Blender and then editing in Photoshop.
